Fiscal Sponsorship

Craft x EDU champions inclusion, equity, and justice in the craft brewing community by helping change makers multiply their impact through fiscal sponsorship.

Fiscal sponsorship provides community organizers and small and emerging advocacy groups in the craft brewing industry a cost effective alternative to creating their own 501(c)(3) nonprofit, allowing change makers to focus on their mission while Craft x EDU manages the administrative complexities.

How it Works

Craft x EDU engages in “grant model” fiscal sponsorship. This model of fiscal sponsorship affords sponsored projects a high degree of autonomy by using a grantor-grantee relationship.

      1. Potential partners provide a “sponsorship request” to Craft x EDU, detailing the project for which they seek sponsorship and its activities.

      1. Once approved, Craft x EDU receives funds on behalf of the project, and disperses them accordingly. Craft x EDU may receive a single, one-time grant on behalf of project or the relationship may be continual over a predetermined period of time.

      1. Thus, Craft x EDU maintains a biannual reporting requirement for sponsored projects to ensure the funds are used in accordance with the grant agreement and Craft x EDU’s 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.

      1. In order to cover the Craft x EDU’s administrative expenses in connection with sponsored projects, Craft x EDU collects an administrative fee of 6 percent of gross donations received.
